Lexxicon’s Irresistible EP Bashment SZN Is On Its Way

Harry Fenn

Jamaican-Canadian artist, Lexxicon is bringing us something special this year. Hot on the heels of his album release last year, Lexxicon’s EP Bashment SZN will be released on the 7th of April this year. His connection to some of the most well-renowned music cities in the world has allowed Lexxicon to create a unique blend of styles and genres. Described as a mix between PartyNextDoor and Swae Lee, Lexxicon has found a unique sound combining his Jamaican roots with mainstream styles.

We’ve had a taste of what’s to be expected from Bashment SZN with the release of the explosive ‘Pon Di Floor’, a perfect merging of 90s dancehall and Afrobeat. The influences are clear, as he’s created a modern dancehall sound. Right from the start, the track is totally engaging with its ominous intro; the addition of Lexxicon’s booming vocals helps to make the tune totally unmissable.

Lexxicon explains that this EP has been designed to be a reflection of the artists that inspire him and those to whom he looks up to:

‘You won’t be able to listen without moving, grooving and wishing you could catch a bubble’.

In addition to releasing a steady stream of bangers, Lexxicon has an energetic and engaging stage presence. Having performed on some of the most prestigious stages in and around Toronto including Afro Fest Kothu Fest, Canadian Music Week, T-Dot Fest and Culture Shock Block Party, Lexxicon’s unique sound is being heard around the world, while he’s showing no sign of slowing down.

Bashment SZN is out on the 7th of April and you don’t want to miss this one.
