The Survival Code have returned with new cut ‘Along The Way‘.
The second single, lifted off forthcoming album ‘Hopelessness of People‘, swaps their stock-in-trade pogo stick pop-punk for a high-octane, no-frills alt-rock. The juggernaut places doorstep-sized riffs at the forefront of the song, lending an urgency to the pace and a ferociousness to the tone. The raging guitars only let up for Gary McGuinness’ emphatic rock vocal to take spotlight in the verse, but the song’s at it’s most powerful when the two forces work in tandem for the blistering choruses.
The Survival Code will be airing ‘Along The Way’ for the first time at this year’s Camden Rocks presents.
The show will take place tonight at The Monarch in Camden Town, alongside extraterrestrial punk-rockers Screech Bats, for their ‘Wish You Were Her’ EP Release Show.
Joining them will be The Menstrual Cramps, Kid Kapichi and Bloodlines.
Since the continued success of Camden Rocks Festival, the organizers are running a string of ‘presents’ shows to give you some of the best new alternative, indie, rock & metal music about and serve as a warm-up to the big one-dayer.
Doors will open at 6:45pm. Tickers are available here.
Camden Rocks festival will take place on June 2, with over two hundred bands performing in venues all along Camden’s high street. Among the 90 acts that have been announced is Maximo Park, Pil, Twin Atlantic, Hacktivist and Mallory Knox.
