Vulpine Smile have been staking their claim as one of the most exciting prospects on the live scene. Hailing from Essex, the trio have turned their attention to Cambridge scene, determined to conquer the local circuit, gig by sweaty gig. That’s why we couldn’t think of a better band to spur a rock revival with us at our first showcase next Thursday (22) at The Blue Moon in Cambridge. The three-piece will kick off proceedings, before handing the baton to Salften and then, God Hates Astronauts.
In case you’re new to the Vulpine Smile fan club, what you can expect from these guys is an entrancing brand of grunge-rock. Their stock-in-trade combines front man Josh Page’s hauntingly dissonant vocals, along with blistering guitar solos and battering rhythms, rolled into a scuzz-drenched, lo-fi package. With their penchant for building suspense, only to unravel it half way through, you never know what kind of journey Vulpine Smile are going to take you on.
